Buddy heathers
The new group of heathers
So, what are Buddy heathers?
Buddy heathers are a variety of heathers, which do not open their buds. For this reason, they provide us with a splendid colour in the garden all year round: even in the depths of winter. Their extensive palette of colours, long blooming and frost hardiness, can make up a splendid decoration in the garden. Their varied use is suitable for the decoration of windows, balconies and terraces. Planted with conifers in containers can present a particular attractive solution. They can re-use containers that have been used for summer planting, to give colour and decoration through-out the winter months. Buddy heathers have also found a respectful role in the adornment of graves, especially on the 1st of November (All Saints Day in Poland) when their bloom is at its most splendid. More modest than chrysanthemums and less obvious, another advantage is that they are cheaper and frost hardy. Arranged in a decorative bowl and dried, they add to the floral layout of your home interior throughout the winter.
The Buddy heathers group in Europe is known under the name of the “Garden Girls”
